Weight Management Stats and Comparisons

62.5% of Americans are obese (Body Mass Index [BMI] >30) and overweight (BMI>25) and related health care costs have increased 10 fold since 1987. Employers and privately insured families spent $36.5 billion on obesity-linked illnesses in 2002 (Health Affairs - online journal, research). In addition, new research has shown that over time there is a rapid conversion of normal weight people to these higher BMI's and the potential to accelerate this trend.

Since this problem is ubiquitous in all facets of our society, a true weight management system based upon a behavioral modification and teaching foundation is required for permanent changes. Lasting results in weight management depend upon the ability for individuals and their surrounding community, including the work place, to adhere to a healthy lifestyle that is accessible and simple to execute. BOK Systems delivers a working set of simple principles with clear objectives designed to produce results and promote cohesiveness within the work place and family environment.
